24/1/10: Day 24

Travelling back up north today, some early morning Rock Band may do me good for the photography.

23/1/10: Day 23

Pictionary man!

22/1/10: Day 22

Another long day today. We drove down to Oxfordshire after work and didn't arrive til 10pm. I did take a liking to Emma and Will's phone though:

21/1/10: Day 21 - Healey Mills TMD

So, this dinner Myk asked if I wanted to takes some photos somewhere. He asked around and found a disused railway depot near to our works. We had a venture down there, not quite disused but some very nice decay in and around the area. I think we will be going back there in the future.

I was looking at the cracked concreate on one of the paths when I found these rusty springs. I am looking forward to getting out there again, next time I'll pack my tripod for some long exposure shots in the darker areas.

20/1/10: Day 20

I started to look at the detail in Sarah Janes' wardrobe, some of the wood work is really intricate. The lighting wasn't good again - taking photos indoors, at night, with 'energy saving' lightbulbs is quite annoying. However, with some after effects I ended up with the following.

Kind of reminds me of the album cover for 'The Queen Is Dead' by The Smiths

19/1/10: Day 19

Lunchtime at work and Myk and I went out. It was quite a foggy day, so the distance shots weren't really possible. I quite liked the detail in the wall.

18/1/10: Day 18

Kats-eye... lol.

17/1/10: Day 17

Today I decided to get out of the house and take a walk. Equipped with my camera and a flask of tea, I wrapped up and went for a walk up the hill behind Bingley. About 20 mins to get to the top from our house and I found loads to shoot. The light wasn't the best due to cloud cover and also the shade from the tree's, but I managed to get a few decent shots. I will be going that way again in the future for sure.

I also got chatting to an old bloke who told me about some other locations near-by, so again, more to visit hopefully before we move.

16/1/10: Day 16

Sarah Jane had been sorting out one of the room and I found this on a window sill:

15/1/10: Day 15 - Jacob Emett

Myk and Hannah brought their new born to work - Jacob Emett.

14/1/10: Day 14 - Footie boots

So, another late evening. I got back from our 5-a-side football, first match in 2010 and started with a win. 5-4 and I got a goal, belter! I'm really going to have to push my creativity over this year if I am to continue this project, there really is only so much you can shoot as 'back-up' if I can't get out for whatever reason.

13/1/10: Day 13

Well, with us soon to be moving house, I thought I'd make the most of the set up at this house before everything is packed away. This is the clock in the kitchen, the word 'Adour' is written beneath it.

12/1/10: Day 12

Sarah Jane had some new flowers, it would have been a shame to not do this shot while they were fresh.

11/1/10: Day 11 - Late in the day

After a busy day, I arrived home at 11:30 and needed to take a half decent photo, other than the back-ups I had made on my mobile. Kats fake plants. Poor show, I know, but it was late.

10/1/10: Day 10

A lazy day spent indoors, so I thought I'd take a picture of something that was close to me... All day... The duvet!

9/1/10: Day 9 - Girls just wanna have fun

Myrtle Park - Many a photo from this set that I wanted to use, but this is one that I just love.

8/1/10: Day 8 - Colours!

This shot came from Kat's dresser - Magic 8 ball and Sock Creature on top - the reflection looked quite nice, so I combined to two. Quite vibrant.

7/1/10: Day 7 - My eyeees

I think this will become a common subject throught this year. I do enjoy drawing and painting eyes and I would like to explore photographing the eye in different light situations.

Thursday 7 January 2010

6/1/10: Day 6

Kats precious!

5/1/10: Day 5

I failed to make it into work and after 4 hours in the car, I was back in Bingley. We had to nip to the shops, so I took the camera out with me. Here is a shot looking out from Bingley. B&W added to it.

4/1/10: Day 4

I left getting the shot until after work, with night set in, I thought I'd venture out and give the tripod a go. I wanted to try a long exposure and also start looking into light trails, so here is the result:

3/1/10: Day 3

I arrived back in Bingley with the snow covering the ground so it seemed only fitting to get out and make the most of the lovely surroundings. A quick walk down to the canal seemed in order.

2/1/10: Day 2

Not much time today, so I tried to take some photos of the old City shirts hanging in my old room in Northwich - Not the best composition either.

1/1/10: Day 1

So here we are, New Years Day and day 1 of a long project. I'm kind of wary about what subject matter to take pictures of and end up trying some close up shots out in the garden. Under low light, a number of these failed to capture my imagination and I thought I'd try to use the light to maximum effect.

So here we have it - shot one:

Introduction

So here goes, after getting a new camera for Christmas, I wanted to make a point of going out and using it as often as possible. I had heard others talk about the photo 365 project and thought it would give me the perfect opportunity to take regular photos and also to help my new years resolution to get out and about a bit more.

So I've had a week of playing around with the camera before the new year starts, it felt right to document my life throughout 2010 and so my story will begin on January 1st.

Enjoy!
